Micah Parsons debuted on Sunday with the Green Bay Packers. It seems he finally found his path in the NFL outside the Cowboys. He tried to negotiate a contract extension to stay in Dallas, but nothing worked, and now he is excited about his new team.
Parsons told reporters after the Packers defeated the Lions 27-13 about how difficult his last days with Jerry Jones’ team were.
A bitter experience left in the past
According to the New York Post, the Packers’ linebacker said the months leading up to his departure from the Cowboys were exhausting. Contract extension issues dragged into training camp, until in August, the Cowboys traded him to the NFC North contender.
“These last six months were super exhausting, super toxic for everyone. It’s something I don’t think any player should go through,” Parsons said from Lambeau Field, according to The Athletic.

“…The fact that they traded me a week before the season was truly shocking and tough. It’s something where I could have been improving with these guys, and we probably could have had an even more dominant start,” the 26-year-old added.
The Cowboys received two first-round picks and Packers defensive tackle Kenny Clark in exchange for Parsons. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones agreed with the trade, saying it was “in the best interest of our organization.”
Parsons said on Sunday that his Packers teammates have embraced him. He also shared that the team is focused on achieving a goal the size of the Super Bowl.
“They believe in my talents. They believed in me, and I’m going to give these guys everything I have because I know what’s at stake and I know what they gave up for me to be here. I will do whatever it takes for us to win,” Parsons stated.
