Sophie Cunningham may be sidelined, but she’s still making headlines. The Indiana Fever guard, known for her defensive grit and unapologetic attitude. Just added a luxury SUV to her off-court life. Cunningham went big with a 2025 Yukon AT4 Ultimate, a vehicle valued at $96,995 according to GMC’s official site. The diesel-powered ride, featuring off-road tires and premium finishes, was unveiled by Cunningham herself in an Instagram story.

The timing couldn’t be more ironic. Just days earlier, Sophie Cunningham shared that she had to walk to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for a game against the Dallas Wings due to car trouble. From walking to the arena to cruising in a nearly six-figure SUV, Cunningham’s upgrade didn’t go unnoticed by fans.

Sophie Cunningham powers through injury—with style

But it’s not all celebration. On August 17, during a matchup against the Connecticut Sun, Sophie Cunningham suffered a torn medial collateral ligament (MCL) in her right knee. The injury ruled her out for the remainder of the season. According to Sportskeeda, Sophie was averaging 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.0 steal per game in her first season with Indiana. She had quickly become a key piece in the Fever’s rotation. Her defensive energy and ability to disrupt opponents were part of the competitive DNA Indiana Fever had been trying to rebuild after years of struggle.

Following the injury, Sophie Cunningham’s sister Lindsey Cunningham publicly criticized the WNBA. For focusing on fining players over social media comments rather than protecting them from injuries. “Pathetic,” she wrote online, referring to the penalties Cunningham received for speaking out on digital platforms. Even their mother got pulled into the controversy, though Sophie later clarified that there was no ill intent from the player involved in the play that caused her injury.

Sophie Cunningham balances fortune and media presence

Beyond the luxury and the drama. Sophie Cunningham is part of a growing wave of female athletes who blend performance, personality, and media savvy. With an estimated net worth of $2 million according to Celebrity Net Worth, Cunningham has built a fan base that connects with both her game and her authenticity. That’s why Sophie continues to emerge as a relevant voice on and off the WNBA court.

For now, the Yukon AT4 will be Cunningham’s road companion as she recovers. And while she won’t be suiting up again this season. Sophie Cunningham will no doubt stay in the spotlight—with plenty of style to spare.
