Clark Hunt, owner of the Chiefs, sees the relationship between tight end Travis Kelce and pop singer Taylor Swift as a positive one. That’s why he shared a message about the couple after the release of the Grammy winner’s new album.
Swift has had a very positive influence on both the player and football in general. She increased women’s interest in the sport and attracted many new fans to the Kansas City Chiefs.
A romantic and media-driven story
According to Firstsportz, the NFL has benefited from Kelce and Swift’s relationship. For that reason, Clark Hunt sent a message of gratitude to the pop megastar during a recent segment of the Pat McAfee Show.
The Kansas City owner explained that the NFL’s male and female viewership numbers were about the same. However, when Taylor Swift started dating Travis Kelce in 2023, those numbers changed thanks to the singer’s impact.
“It’s been a whirlwind, I would say, for the organization over the last two years since Taylor literally came into our lives. She has done an incredible job, unintentionally, of growing our female fan base,” Hunt said.

For her part, Swift admitted that she owes a lot to the New Heights podcast, since it brought her closer to the Chiefs star. “When I watched it, I thought: ‘This guy didn’t get a meet-and-greet. He’s making it everyone’s problem,’” the singer said.
Meanwhile, Travis Kelce acted no different from a fanboy in front of a star like her. Swift got nervous because Kelce wasn’t exactly following the usual protocol. Later, he attended the Eras Tour at Arrowhead, but he couldn’t meet Swift. Still, he left a good impression on her.
“[Travis] came with Pat [Patrick Mahomes], and he thought that since he knew the elevator lady, he could ask her about going down to my dressing room,” Swift revealed. Later, she attended a Chiefs vs. Cardinals game at Arrowhead, and that’s when the romance rumors began.
“Let me just say how happy we are about their relationship. They are a wonderful couple, and seeing them together is really special. That podcast, watching them side by side talking about their relationship, was absolutely incredible,” Hunt said.
