In the middle of a tough season for the Las Vegas Aces, A’ja Wilson gets major news from the basketball world. Despite the WNBA team’s current losing streak, she continues to shine, and she averages 21.3 points per game.

Since the beginning of her journey in women’s basketball, Wilson has displayed clear talent and skill, and fans and experts have recognized her impact on the court. She carries the team on her back, but she can’t deliver wins without the support of her teammates.

A powerful piece of news that motivates her to keep going

A’ja Wilson learned she will enter the Gamecocks Athletics Hall of Fame on October 23. Additionally, EssentiallySports reported that the program will honor Wilson and her teammates during the football game against Alabama on October 25.

Wilson became the first four-time All-American in Gamecocks history. In 2018, she earned unanimous National Player of the Year honors, and in 2017, she led the team to its first national championship.

She holds the school’s scoring record with 2,389 points, and she ranks fourth in career rebounds with 1,195. In 2021, the University of South Carolina built a statue in her honor in front of Colonial Life Arena.

In February, the university honored Wilson again by retiring her number 22 jersey. During the ceremony, she said: “South Carolina shaped me, not just as an athlete but as a person.” After college, Wilson dominated the WNBA, where she earned three MVP awards and helped her team win two league championships.
