Paige Bueckers has had an intense and demanding year, barely taking any time off as she went straight from the NCAA to the WNBA as a rookie. However, she decided to take a break after the All-Star Game. What she didn’t know was that this would become a golden opportunity to meet the fastest man alive.
According to a report by EssentiallySports, the Dallas Wings player experienced a historic moment when she met sprinting legend Usain Bolt. She even got his autograph and took a photo with him, and had a short conversation with the 6’5″ track icon.
A moment of satisfaction between athletes
The former UConn star expressed how thrilled she was to meet Bolt during a press conference after the game against the Liberty:
“Yeah, he’s the GOAT, the fastest man to ever live. So just being in his presence, I was trying to absorb some of that, get a little of his speed. But really, it’s an honor to meet him, and I’m super grateful he’s supporting the WNBA and women’s basketball by coming to our games. It was an incredible opportunity.”

Bolt has now been seen twice at WNBA games. He’s also a known NBA fan and has been spotted wearing Golden State Warriors gear on several occasions. The best part for Paige Bueckers that night was that she didn’t disappoint Bolt, delivering an outstanding performance as the Wings beat the Liberty 92-82.
But Paige wasn’t the only one who shared a special moment with Bolt. A’ja Wilson also seized the chance to meet the sprinter, giving him a hug and saying:
