In the midst of a preseason that promises to be pivotal for the Texas Longhorns. Starting quarterback Quinn Ewers broke away from routine to savor a different kind of evening. He opted for live music, good company, and moments that don’t appear in any playbook.

Joined by his girlfriend Madelyne Barne, Quinn Ewers attended a Coldplay concert where, according to Marca, he crossed paths with Miami Dolphins quarterback Zach Wilson and his wife Nicolette. A photo shared by Barne showing the two couples together sparked curiosity—not just about the quarterbacks mingling off the field, but also about their break from the relentless sports calendar they’re both navigating.

Camaraderie with the competition

For Zach Wilson, the night out coincided with a personal milestone. His recent wedding, marking a fresh start after a turbulent NFL season. The former Jets quarterback, briefly traded to Denver in 2024. Now hopes to establish himself in Miami while Tua Tagovailoa—who didn’t attend the concert—remains the starting QB. Sharing a laid-back moment with Quinn Ewers highlights that away from the spotlight, there’s a mutual respect and camaraderie among athletes living under constant pressure.

Meanwhile, Quinn Ewers is coming off a solid 2024 season in the Big 12 and gearing up to lead Texas into its inaugural campaign in the powerhouse SEC. The switch in conferences means the stakes are higher than ever, and Ewers carries the weighty expectation of guiding the Longhorns into national prominence. His performance will be crucial against heavyweights like Alabama, Georgia, and LSU.
