Lance Stephenson was one of the toughest opponents LeBron James faced in the league. However, what Stephenson did during a game to throw the King off his rhythm eventually backfired, thanks to a LeBron fan.
Stephenson tried to intimidate the Lakers superstar back when he played for the Miami Heat against the Indiana Pacers. The incident happened in 2014, during a game in the Eastern Conference Finals.
An unprecedented event that didn’t go unnoticed
According to a report by Firstsportz, the act Stephenson used against LeBron James was blowing in his ear. The moment became so controversial that the image is still widely used as a meme today. But eventually, a James fan gave Stephenson a taste of his own medicine.
“THAT’S HOW LEBRON FELT, YOU LIKE THAT!?”
Lance Stephenson almost lost in when a crazy fan blew in his ear at the club as revenge for LeBron 🤣 pic.twitter.com/YEgxJNOs81— 7PM in Brooklyn (@7PMinBrooklyn) July 22, 2025
On the podcast 7PM in Brooklyn, the former Indiana shooting guard shared what happened to him at a bar after the incident.
“I’m not gonna lie, sometimes I regret it because I was at a club. I go to the bar. Some drunk guys come up and (makes blowing sounds). ‘Hey, crazy dude? That’s how LeBron felt—how do you like that?’”
After that, Stephenson wanted to retaliate because of how angry it made him, but he chose to hold back. In that moment, he clearly realized how wrong he had been to try to mess with LeBron during the game.
Still, the King stayed calm through it all. In fact, LeBron had the last laugh, as the Miami Heat went on to win that year.
