Bronny James stood out with his performance Thursday night in Las Vegas. Against the Celtics, the son of the King of the Court shined and delivered what many might call a Hollywood-style ending.

In the first half, James scored zero points. However, he roared back in the second half and secured the Los Angeles Lakers’ 87-78 victory in the Summer League.

A stunning plot twist

The Lakers’ second-year shooting guard finished the game with 18 points, five assists, three rebounds, and one steal. In the fourth quarter, he executed a smart game plan that allowed him to neutralize Boston’s Kenneth Lofton Jr.

According to a New York Post analysis, Bronny James is currently averaging 14.3 points, 3.8 assists, and 2.8 rebounds, with a shooting percentage of 47.6%. He has only played four games with the Lakers.

Even though his NBA journey is just beginning, LeBron James‘ son already looks like a seasoned veteran on the court. The days of limited rookie minutes are over. In the Summer League, he now plays with greater confidence and control when handling the ball.

“Yeah, for sure… Being in the G-League as a lead guard most of the time helped. Just getting these reps in the Summer League helps too. I’m feeling more and more comfortable game by game,” Bronny told the media after the match.

It seems the young James is on his way to following in his father LeBron’s legendary footsteps, even as the 40-year-old veteran faces ongoing retirement rumors for 2025. However, LeBron hasn’t commented on his future plans yet.
