Sophie Cunningham played a crucial role for the Indiana Fever on Friday night when they faced the Atlanta Dream. The game ended 99-82, and she stood out for her performance on the court.

The 28-year-old guard recorded an impressive double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, marking her highest scoring game since joining the Fever. She also nailed four three-pointers, added a block, and handed out an assist, showcasing her talent like never before.

Indiana Fever feels like home

After the game, Cunningham spoke with reporters and emphasized the energy and positive vibes within the team. She highlighted the strong bond she shares with her teammates, both on and off the court. She’s one of the team’s most energetic players day in and day out.

According to a report from Athlon Sports, Cunningham shared her thoughts on the team:
“I truly believe this is a really unique and special team… In the locker room, we really love each other. We love spending time together.”

She also stressed the support they give each other during tough moments:
“Our practices, I’m not gonna lie, are long. And sometimes we have to hold hands and say, ‘Hey, we’re gonna get through this.’”

In her WNBA career, Cunningham had never felt the kind of chemistry she now feels with the Fever.
“I’ve never felt like this with any other team in the W. I’ve been doing this for seven years… and this is a special group we have.”
She added:
“When we go out, have fun, compete, and feed off each other’s energy, it’s easy. That’s when we’re at our best.”

Being on the court with her teammates lifts her spirits, and that emotional boost is essential for giving their all to the Fever. Now, they’ll aim to keep that mindset going into Sunday’s game against the Dallas Wings.
