Praise for outstanding performance
Kim Mulkey’s reaction came after Flau’jae Johnson executed an impressive move in a game with the USA team during the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup. In that matchup against the Dominican Republic, Team USA dominated with a 110-44 victory. Johnson played during the second half, scoring 16 points in just 20 minutes on the court.
“I was excited to get out there,” Johnson said after the game. “I got a feel for the match and realized how physical and aggressive we had to be. I think we handled it really well.”
Johnson’s stat line was equally impressive, as she contributed seven rebounds and four steals. In response, Kim Mulkey posted on her official X account, tagging Johnson and adding red, white, and blue heart emojis to celebrate her performance.
USA head coach Kara Lawson also praised Johnson, saying: “That’s been the story for us throughout this tournament. Different players have stepped up in every game… We’re definitely going to rely on our depth, and we need that to continue if we want to keep advancing.”
With strong support from coaches and consistent play, Flau’jae Johnson is becoming a key figure for LSU and a rising name in international basketball.
