What the Tigers’ quarterback hopes to achieve
In an interview with Jason Fitz for Yahoo! Sports, Garrett Nussmeier explained the key reasons behind his decision to return to LSU for another season. “On one hand, like I always say, it’s important to know who you are and to have a foundation,” he said. “For me, that has been my faith and trust in God, His timing, and His plan for me. I’ve just kept my head down, gone to work, and tried to improve in the areas I knew I needed to.”
He also emphasized the benefits of continuity. “Being in the same system, staying at the same school, and being around familiar coaches and teammates has been a huge advantage,” Nussmeier shared. “I’m grateful I made this decision. I feel incredibly blessed and thankful. Honestly, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but LSU.”
Nussmeier’s choice to stay not only speaks to his maturity but also signals his commitment to the Tigers’ program. As the new season approaches, LSU fans can expect a focused and motivated leader under center. With his strong work ethic, belief system, and familiarity with the playbook, Nussmeier is set to play a critical role in LSU’s journey through the 2025 season.
