Deion Sanders openly expressed his frustration over rumors about his son Shedeur Sanders‘ future in the NFL. In fact, he called out a reporter for falsely quoting him. This happened amid the massive wave of speculation circulating online ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

At the ProMat Conference in Chicago, where Coach Prime was a guest speaker, someone allegedly asked him about which team he wanted his son to join. However, it appears that his response was either manipulated or misinterpreted, forcing him to set the record straight.

A clarification for the media and social networks

According to reports, John Sokol, an attendee at the conference, claimed to have asked Deion Sanders the question and reported that his response was: “Hopefully, it’s New York.”

Shedeur himself added fuel to the fire when he wore boots in NY Giants colors at the Alamo Bowl in Colorado. This further intensified speculation about his potential future with the team.

After the supposed “quote” spread like wildfire online, Deion Sanders stepped in to clear things up. He responded on an Instagram account, saying: “THIS IS A LIE! We are grateful for whatever God chooses for them.”

With this statement, he referred to both of his sons, Shedeur and Shilo, who are pursuing careers in the NFL.

His response forced many accounts to take down posts featuring the false quote from Coach Prime, who only wants the best for his children.

A future with the Giants?

Whether or not Deion Sanders actually made that statement, the possibility of Shedeur joining the New York Giants isn’t far-fetched. Many analysts and experts running draft simulations believe it could happen in April. However, it all depends on Cam Ward’s selection, as he currently ranks ahead of Sanders in the draft projections.
