In a moment of arrogance, Morant confidently told Malika that no one could beat him in the Western Conference in 2024. In fact, he stated, “I’m good in the West.” But he had to eat his words, as he didn’t even reach the finals.Morant later admitted that he sought Malika out after the Lakers eliminated the Grizzlies to acknowledge that his previous words would likely resurface.
That’s when Cameron Brink stepped in, saying that’s what she appreciates about the journalist: “That is so real of you… As a player, I appreciate it”.Brink referred to Malika’s honesty and the way she always connects with basketball players in the U.S. Hopefully, Morant has learned his lesson and thinks twice before making such bold statements. Malika will always be there to remind him.
