Jerry Jones was firm with Dak Prescott in his recent statements, emphasizing that the Dallas Cowboys’ goal is to win the Super Bowl. While it’s no easy task, it’s achievable with a team focused on the central plan.

Jerry Jones’ intentions for the upcoming season are well defined, as he insists that the Dallas Cowboys are focused on winning the Super Bowl. However, to achieve this, quarterback Dak Prescott is a fundamental piece.

Prescott is central to Jerry Jones’ and the Dallas Cowboys’ plans, and there are high expectations for him and his performance. In fact, Jones sent him a strong message.

Jerry Jones’ message

Under Brian Schottenheimer’s leadership, the Dallas Cowboys have a goal, and whether experienced or not. The message is clear for Dak Prescott and the rest of the players. Jerry Jones says they must win.

Jones stated this during an interview with Sky Sports: “We all play for the Super Bowl. I wouldn’t have made Dak the highest-paid player in the NFL had I not thought we were ready to win now. I’m very disappointed that we didn’t have a successful season this year, but I also believe that our coach can win now.”

It’s important to remember that the Cowboys haven’t won the Super Bowl since the 1995 season, but they want that to change. Now they see other teams in their division. Like the Eagles and the Washington Commanders, as strong championship contenders and need to prepare.

New Coach

Some claim that the Cowboys and Jerry Jones are at a critical point, but they can have a standout season. This is thanks to the addition of Brian Schottenheimer as the new head coach. He will be responsible for leading the team and maximizing each player’s potential.

Schottenheimer takes the main opportunity with Jerry Jones’ Cowboys following Mike McCarthy’s departure. While some say his inexperience might be a drawback, he has spent two years as the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator. Moreover, his NFL experience spans over 20 years.

This résumé convinced Jerry Jones that Schottenheimer is the right man for the job and to lead the Cowboys to victory in their division.

“One of the reasons I made him the coach is because of his continuity with our players and, if you will, with Dak and the receivers and all the other parts of our team. So, I think we’ve got the makings of a fresh, energetic, first-time coach who has actually been there for 25 years,” Jerry Jones concluded.
