Bill Belichick, one of the most influential figures in football history, made headlines again away from the field. This time, it was not about tactics or staff decisions. He attended a cheerleading competition to support his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson. The 73-year-old coach traveled to Atlanta over the weekend, according to TMZ, and images quickly circulated online.
Hudson, 24, competes as the captain of Code Black, a cheerleading team. The group took part in a Cheer Extreme All-Stars event. They had also competed in Raleigh, North Carolina, in November. Belichick watched from the stands, wearing a button-down shirt, jeans, and a Navy submarine cap. Hudson wore the black team uniform alongside her teammates.
A relationship under media scrutiny
According to a report from the New York Post, the published photos showed the couple smiling together. The images reinforced how naturally both have embraced public exposure. Hudson also shared a video showing part of Code Black’s routine from the first day of the competition. That post further increased the attention.
Since the relationship became public in the summer of 2024, Belichick has openly supported Hudson at multiple events. He previously attended another cheerleading competition in November. He was also present at the Miss Maine USA pageant earlier this year. The support has gone both ways. Hudson has backed Belichick during his first season as head coach at the University of North Carolina, a period filled with off-field headlines.

The on-field context has not been easy for Belichick. He finished his first UNC season with a 4-8 record. Questions about his future with the program followed. After the season, he made major changes to his coaching staff in an effort to reset the project.
The relationship has generated both interest and controversy. Hudson drew attention earlier this year during an interview on “CBS Sunday Morning”. She intervened when Belichick was asked how they met. That moment sparked weeks of media debate. More recently, Hudson exchanged words with investigative sports journalist Pablo Torre. She even claimed she would sue him.
According to The Post, Jen Belichick, Bill’s daughter-in-law, delivered a lengthy speech in his office last month. She reportedly expressed concern about Hudson’s influence. She claimed Hudson was “turning Belichick’s head.”
Despite the outside noise, Belichick continues to show steady support for his partner. His appearance at the cheerleading competition highlights a rare public image of the historic coach. It places him in a personal spotlight that continues to attract attention.
