Gabbie Marshall surprised her followers by announcing her move to Indianapolis, bringing her closer once again to Caitlin Clark. Both were key figures at Iowa, but they took different paths afterward. Marshall retired after the 2023–24 season and completed a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy in North Carolina. Despite retiring, she continued to support Clark in the WNBA, attending several Indiana Fever games.
Clark went through a difficult 2025 season. She missed several months due to multiple injuries. When she did play, she averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.8 assists in just 13 games. The Fever shocked the league by pushing the Las Vegas Aces to a decisive Game 5 in the semifinals.
An arrival that could influence Indiana’s future
According to Athlonsports, the news arrived through Spencer Touro, Marshall’s partner. “Me emociona anunciar que me uniré al equipo de @ets.performance.hq como Director de Operaciones en Indianápolis!” he wrote on Instagram. Shortly after, Marshall confirmed the move. “¡Estoy tan orgulloso de ti! 😳❤️ Indy ➡️ pronto,” she shared on social media.

The announcement revives the possibility of a sports reunion. The Fever currently have only three players under contract for 2026, and Clark is one of them. If the franchise needs to complete its roster, Marshall’s name could emerge as an option. Her strong bond with Clark and her experience at Iowa make her a respected figure.
Marshall has never hidden her support for her former teammate. Her presence in Indianapolis also strengthens Clark’s social environment. The franchise may value that human impact as part of a project that relies heavily on the star guard’s leadership.
With the new season approaching, Indiana will need to rebuild its roster. Marshall will be in the city at a pivotal moment. If the opportunity comes, she could experience an unexpected return.
