Injuries and doubts
The debate about his health remains open. Lamar Jackson missed one practice day each week for three weeks, dealing with knee, ankle, and toe issues. However, both he and coach John Harbaugh insist he is “fully healthy to play.” Jackson himself stated the key is better execution and more consistency, rejecting injuries as the main reason for his slump.

The ground impact of Lamar Jackson also declined. In his last four games he produced only 84 yards on 26 carries, averaging 3.2 per attempt. Against the Bengals he showed slightly more mobility with 27 yards on six runs, but still far from his trademark explosiveness. The reduced rushing threat allows defenses to adjust coverages and pressure more effectively inside the pocket.
Baltimore’s outlook
Despite the downturn, Lamar Jackson’s overall 2025 numbers remain competitive. He holds a 64.8% completion rate, 1,841 yards, 16 total touchdowns, and just four interceptions in nine starts. Still, the loss ended a five-game winning streak and highlighted that the Ravens need more from their offensive leader to stay alive in an increasingly demanding AFC.

Lamar Jackson faces one of the most critical stretches of his career. His talent is intact, but execution and offensive discipline are now the challenge. The quarterback knows he must raise his level for Baltimore to contend again. With extra recovery days before facing the Steelers, Jackson has the chance to prove the slump is temporary. He still has the opportunity to guide the Ravens toward the postseason.
